Yes they could release DVD's sooner, but the reason they don't is to allow a full theatrical run including second and third run movie theaters and it usually prevents them from stepping on their own toes by releasing a hit DVD at the same time they releas

Every time you torrent, the picture and sound quality suck, the image is badly cropped, and you often see people moving around in the theater and the lens being covered to hide the camera from the ushers. Is it really worth it?

not true. i only torrent in the time between theatrical release and dvd release. i know studios can release dvds sooner then they do.
