I wonder if that's the GTO that Overhaulin did for him, in the background?

best time of your day, I bet . . . . always was mine when Drew and I worked on his derby car

I think you need more wall space for all the Bikes you have!!!

Luke if your pinewood derby car is as fast as daddy's gas powered Beast in the background, I think you'll do all right.

Treasure those moments...they will grow up before you realize it.

Good luck! Pinewood derby is about building a relationship--not just a car. Hope to see a photo with final product and trophy. A yellow Cub Scout uniform instead of blue?

Brings back some great memories!

Lance, if you had a little wood lathe you could shave the wheels down to make them VERY thin and the thing will really get off the line fast. I did that with my son and he actually won! Hopefully it is still legal.

Ah the good old days of Cub Scouts. We used plenty of graphite powder on my sons car. Great bonding time. Good luck.

I assume that's Luke's 'lil Harley behind you--how fun is that!

Make sure the little guy spends a LOT of time buffing the wheels and axles. It's all about that (as if you didn't know).

Lance, are you driving the 'Pinewood Pace Car' just like at the Indy 500...? ;-)

I think that's the GTO from Overhaulin in the background! Sweet ride!!!!

This is probably my favorite pic thus far. Nothing more valuable than time with the sprouts.

Will Luke be able to do some wind tunnel testing on this rig?

Use Scott's Liquid Gold furniture polish on the axles/hub. It will fly!!!

Good luck. My son (Webelos Scout) & I just did this. Lots of fun, but didn't win. I'm not surprised that your car is yellow. GOOD LUCK!

Polish up those axles! Good luck to him in his races. Have fun!

I think I have understood what it is and seems to be similar a bit to those small cars that our Michael Schumacher has also driven as a boy before he later became worldchampion in formula one.
