Pogo: brilliant, delightful, whimsical, and satirical. I miss it.

Forever grateful that Kelly invented Jack Acid Society. Apparently still has lots of members

I'd love to see some of the Nixon-era Pogos that Pulliam's Arizona Republic refused to run...

What a pleasant surprise

Oh, my word. Best laugh I've had today. But Walt Kelly would provide such. Thank you.

I have in my possession a 1963 copy of Deck Us All with Boston Charlie. A favorite of mine growing up.

I've seen a few Pogo strips, I've wanted to find a whole book of them but they are hard to find.

A couple yrs ago Smith was working with Fantagraphics to do Pogo collections. Wonder what happened?

We love Walt Kelly. Wasn't he around about when the word "zany" was still in use?

I've heard of Walt Kelly for sure. He was indeed both a former Disney animator and an inspiration for Smith.

Haven't you zanies ever heard of the sublime Walt Kelly?

ZevEisenberg 563 days ago

That looks like it was drawn by Jeff Smith of Bone fame. Was it?

Something like this can only come from the mind of a former Disney animator.
