Jupiter (left) and Mercury in conjunction this evening from Germany, w/o tripod and under tough conditions: not only was the horizon all too high everywhere but there was also an obnoxious cloud bank in the west that had to go first. Lingering haze left Mercury barely visible to the naked eye then.
