"One of #Syria ’s most outspoken bloggers and advocate of human rights, #Razan Ghazzawi, was arrested today on the Syrian-Jordanian border on her way to a conference on press freedom in the Middle East. Razan used her blog to raise awareness about detainees in Syrian #prisons and she was a frequent contributor to Global Voices. Anticipating her arrest, Razan gave control of her social media accounts to fellow friends and colleagues (Global Voices’ Jillian York among them). This was the message she left for her supporters before leaving: "If anything happens to me know that the regime does not fear the prisoners but those who doesn't forget them"
