" #Palestinian demonstrators carry Walid Barghouti, a fellow demonstrator, who was shot by an #Israeli soldier with live ammunition during the weekly demonstration at Nabi Saleh against the nearby illegal #Israeli #settlement of #Halamish and the takeover of a Palestinian water spring by Israeli #settlers, December 23, 2011.

The demonstration turned violent with Israeli forces firing #teargas toward protesters, some of whom responded by throwing stones. The Israeli army allege they used live fire to disperse the protesters throwing stones. #Barghouti was shot with a live 0.22 inch calibre “tutu” bullet — a weapon banned for use against protesters. No Israeli soldiers were injured.

Exactly two weeks ago in the same village, an Israeli soldier shot Mustafa Tamimi directly in the face with a teargas canister from close range. #Tamimi died from his wounds the next morning. His funeral procession took place the day after, during which the Israeli army fired teargas on some of the mourners, beat unarmed demonstrators and arrested seven activists." Via IsraelFacts
