Members of McKinley Technology High School’s robotics team pose with Principal David Pinder after competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition at the Chesapeake Regional held March 9-10 at the Baltimore Convention Center. A robotics team from Phelps Architecture, Construction and Engineering High School also competed in the Chesapeake Regional. Out of 64 teams participating, Phelps finished 28th and McKinley 39th in the round-robin play. This was the first regional of the year for both teams and provided an excellent opportunity for the students to fine tune their machines and techniques prior to the DC Regional on March 30 and 31 at the DC Convention Center. Wilson and Anacostia high schools will travel to Richmond, Va., to compete in the Virginia Regional on March 16 and 17.
