You can also agree to switch on all those irons at the start of any commercial. That would give great synchronisation of the surge. Switch off after a minute or so. Then power company cannot adapt properly.

.. whenever you see something annoying, switch on that iron. If many people were annoyed at same time, you'll see a dip in your lights. Very satisfying.

This method can still be improved. Power companies can deal with constant high power. Worse is short and high spikes in power usage. You can cause that by switching on many things at same time. And TV is ideal medium for synchronisation: whenever you see

How can we 'certify' that this is the result of 'the iron brigade'...and not just imagining it? why didn't your monitor 'dim out' as well? (why didn't power go out completely, not just the image shown?) I am pro-mousavi, but skeptical of this 'effect'.
