Sorry to see that, Martha. I thought it was just mine. Hopefully, we'll have better luck next year!

Due to the cool wet weather that the Northeast has been experiencing this year, blight is effecting tomato crops. Same blight that hit Ireland in potato famine.

Too bad. It that a type of late blight?

There is a tomato blight going through western Pennsylvania. The bottom of the plant turns brown seemingly overnight and then sudden death! Nothing seems to work as a combatant; soap water seems to prevent it.

I'm very sorry to hear about your tomatoes, Martha. Mine are getting blossom end rot. I think the weather in PA has not been good for tomaotes this year.

Sorry to hear about your tomatoes. I planted them for the first time this year and most of them have blossom end rot. :(

So sad about your tomatoes. My LA crop is doing great - you should all come here to try some! I'm having a tasting on Aug. 16 - several varieties, many recipes, growing tips, too.

Well rats! I am hanging in there with my heirlooms-----just as long as I don't need to fill a freezer or pantry.
