Congratulations to #MerrillUMD alumna Megha Rajagopalan who has just been named to the #Reuters politics and general news team in Beijing as a correspondent.

Megha joined Reuters last year as a graduate trainee in Beijing, where she did rotations on the economics and P&G teams. Before that, she reported on digital privacy and cybersecurity at ProPublica, a nonprofit investigative news agency in New York. She began her career as a reporter-researcher for author Steve Coll on the book Private Empire: Exxon Mobil and American Power, an investigation into the secretive company that won the Financial Times Business Book of the Year award. 

A Mandarin Chinese speaker, Megha graduated with honors from the University of Maryland, College Park, and was a 2011 Fulbright fellow to China. She has contributed to The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, TIME, Wired, The San Francisco Chronicle, Foreign Policy, Salon, The Christian Science Monitor and others.
