#Maryland This is damned horrific!! #Baltimore County kill pound leaves cat with broken jaw in cage to die! Needs vet, rescue & justice!

This is Tobias. He sat at Baltimore County Animal Services for two weeks like this with absolutely no care. When questioned about his jaw and numerous concerns expressed that it could be broken, staff said that he had a mouth sore and had been put on antibiotics. Still more concerns expressed about the cause of this mouth sore. Which the staff had not located or seen at all. Finally after 15 days, Tobias was rescued from the shelter and for the first time in his ordeal was seen by a vet who determined that he had suffered severe trauma and that his jaw was, indeed, broken.
BCAS did not make a mistake. They did not allow subtle signs to slip through the cracks. They allowed a severely injured animal to languish is pain for two weeks, while they did nothing. This is the definition of neglect and neglect is abuse. We are beyond a wagging finger, a tsk, tsk and shame on them. It is clearly time for a leadership change at BCAS. The current leadership has proven itself utterly incompetent to point that our fully tax funded county shelter should be brought up on cruelty charges. This is unacceptable and CAPA for Maryland demands that the County take action to remove BCAS' leadership and replace it with competent, compassionate people who will serve the people and pets of Baltimore County.
