Mobilize your appetite at the Athens Food Cart Fest! On Saturday, March 31st 2012, students from the University of Georgia College of Environment and Design (CED) will stage a Food Cart Festival in Downtown Athens celebrating local and regional food production. Athens is renowned in the South for excellent restaurants and locally sourced foods, and students and community partners agree that high-quality mobile vending is the next step in Athens' evolution as a great food destination. Featuring food trucks from Athens and Atlanta, the festival will celebrate the blossoming street food movement which is enjoying remarkable success throughout the country. The Athens Food Cart Fest is open to the public and will be held on College Avenue between Washington and Hancock Streets from noon to 6:00 p.m.
