READ below: Four years ago to commemorate the 1st Anniversary of Michael’s passing, I designed and painted a Hope Chest of Love for fans to submit photos and messages to Michael. Below you can see some photos of the chest and a video of the tributes fans submitted. The chest was eventually delivered to the Jackson’s home on Hayvenhurst Drive in Encino while the family still resided there. It was an honor and very humbling to be a part of this amazing tribute and to see the sheer amount of love so many have for this amazing man. This year as we all know marks the 5th anniversary of Michael’s passing and I wanted to mark this milestone by revisiting the Hope Chest theme, this time with a slightly different approach. I am inviting and welcoming all fans who would like to participate to write a letter to Michael telling him how your life has changed since his passing, how you may have personally been inspired to “make that change” in your own life and were able to positively influence the lives of others. In the past five years I have been witness to so many instances where Michael has most definitely inspired others, be it charitably, creatively, positively…. in so many different and varied ways! As Michael told Paris on the delightful Christmas home video I’m sure we have all seen…. “Search your heart”…. This is your chance to let him know how he has changed your life over the years, either during his lifetime or since he passed away. I know the moment he left us is seared in our collective memory, and was a moment of epiphany for many of us for many reasons. I know there is an emptiness that for some is still raw. We still miss Michael so very much. But if he has inspired something wonderful in you, this is your chance to let him know! I will be purchasing a small ornate antique or antique replica chest similar in size to the last chest, and embellishing it with ephemera fitting for a king. As the project progresses I will be sure to post photos along the way. This time I plan on taking the chest to one of the most beautiful spots on earth and the place Michael called home for so many years….. Neverland. I will personally present it to the guards there, who I have it on very good authority collect and safely store all the items left there for Michael’s family. I think this is a fitting place for the chest to be in the years to come. Please submit your letters to the following address to arrive no later than Friday, June 20th.
