@errolmorris's masterpiece "The Unknown Known" is the best film I've seen on the banality of evil and political language that defends the indefensible. Errol Morris does an excellent job at revealing how evidence can be futile and so easily evaded, with an important focus on Rumsfeld's blizzard of memos (snowflakes) demonstrating how "stuff happens" when "liberating people from a dictator". Timely reminder in view of current events in Iraq and the Middle Eastern region as a whole. It's a film that immediately invites a second viewing. Also worth noting Morris's @nytimes 4-part series titled "The Certainty of Donald Rumsfeld" http://nyti.ms/1dsLRVK illuminating the importance of the work of the likes of Pam Hess and other Pentagon correspondents, in addressing Rumsfeld's argument that "absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence".. How Rumsfeld claims that “Belief in the inevitability of conflict can become one of its main causes,” without acknowledging the irony or contradiction. I also loved Morris's Alice In Wonderland allegory.
