But some business owners have mounted a campaign to overturn the law. The measure increases the city’s minimum wage from $9 to $9.75 on Jan. 1, to $10.50 on Jan. 1, 2016, and to $11.50 on Jan. 1, 2017. In 2019, the minimum wage would be tied to inflation.
