The HOLOCAUST in #Romania continues!! ASPA killed 120 dogs in Mihailesti death camp a few days ago, to save costs. When I first saw the news, I thought was 'what costs'. The dogs don't get fed or treated in this death camp! So what costs are they claiming to save?!! I visited Mihailesti ASPA death camp last November and again in January. There were over 500 captured dogs on my first visit. Some dogs were so sick that they couldn't stand on their feet. Some were just lying there, not sure whether they were alive or dead. Taking photos and videos back in November was 'illegal'. We were being escorted by the staff to ensure we dont take any photos. As soon as the guard left my side, I took out my phone hid it between my scarf and jacket in an attempt to film the dogs. Within a few minutes, I was pushed with great force against the metal kennels. I fell on the floor. The guard couldn't speak English, but he was screaming at me in Romanian, the only word I understood was 'photos'. I tried getting up on my feet, but he started dragging me, holding my jacket and hair and rushing me out of the 'shelter'. I quickly managed to delete the film and told him and his boss at the reception area, that I was reading a message and not filming anything. They took my phone and investigated the photos before returning it to me and showing me the door. I went to the first pharmacy on my way out and bought herbal calming pills to get over the shock. ASPA staff have no hesitation in attacking local and foreign activists, they have also recently attacked German activists, one of them who was hospitilised. So, to conclude, 120 dogs were probably killed, not to save costs, but to claim funds for killing them. Those who don't know, yes, this is Romania, and they are paid to kill dogs!
