This is so true. So much has changed for me this past year. I still like sports, but I don't watch them all day everyday anymore. On occasion with friends or to root for someone. It's beautiful that once I woke up, I now see the big picture; what's most important. For me that's love, family, that's helping others, that's finding your passion and living it unapologetically. It used to be covering sports, but now I get a rush helping others who struggle, helping others get on track with their health, the smile on someone's face after their yoga practice. I'll still watch baseball and I'll still be rooting for people I care about, but I no longer choose to spend all my free time watching games for hours upon hours when there's so much to be done, there's so many people hurting. And that's no disrespect to anyone. I know I'm being called in a different direction. Everything happens for a reason and I can't ignore my past. It's my way to make an impact on others.
I'm reading "the lion sleeps no more" and it's really opening my eyes to what's going on in the world. I worked in media and entertainment for years and saw all the brainwashing and unattainable expectations that are put upon us. It's affecting our children, it's affecting us. The people who are crazy enough to believe they can change the world are the ones who do. I'm going to do everything I can to make an impact. #rantover
