I built my little boys a bunk bed over the weekend with Aspen trees from our property. Total blast, I dig working with natural wood. Last night after I put little ones to bed, I made an Aspen lamp. Took me an hour. Cool.

Teri here...Kevin's wife - and there's no finish on the wood. The Aspen is amazing - doesn't splinter, so a good hand-peel & a bit of sanding leave the wood silky smooth. A varnish or something would make it stronger, to resist scratches, stains, etc -

Looks really cool Kevin. I would take that over IKEA any day. What if any finish do you use on the sanded wood?
