So great to be back in my ‘home away from home’! Big NBL run on Monday to prepare for spacewalks this Summer. So excited...but with some very guarded enthusiasm...I haven’t been in the EMU suit since being in space in August, 2010 and wrestling with the failed Ammonia Pump Module... :-/
In ‘the office’ today looking at tools & hardware and reviewing the choreography. We have a tremendous team in place and we’re excited to prepare for the big day.

The glory of friendship! ‘Spike’ & ‘Tike’ reunion tonight…so excited to spend time with my friend, mentor, and hero…
A photo from our STS-120 mission aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery, getting ready to ‘walk in space’…if I only knew what was coming for us with that solar array repair. I look back on that now with such fond memories. The confidence and poise in Scott’s steady leadership; and the genius, innovation, and daring of our Flight Director, our Mission Control team, and the Mission Evaluation Room (MER)…it’s the stuff that dreams are made of, for sure.
“The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when they discover that someone else believes in them and is willing to trust them.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Time to light ‘em up! Love being back in the cockpit…I feel at home there. When the afterburners are lit and the runway is dropping away behind me…it is sweet poetry...

Just talked with my Mom up in New York…the ‘blizzard’ is roaring through and Mom & Dad are hunkered down in the falling snow and the blustery wind…to which I replied…”I love not having to shovel sunshine…” :-)
Is that mean? Mom knows I love her…and she knows that I am suffering through these dreadful winter days here on @GalvestonIsland
Warm greetings from the glorious Texas coast. To my friends, family, and followers in the path of this snow storm...stay warm and safe. Have no fear…the Spring is coming… :-)

Haven’t been in this suit since this photo was taken in space in 2010…excited about the opportunity to work with the incredible team at the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory again! Developing the timelines and choreography for spacewalks planned later this year…reliving the memories of yesterday and dreaming of the wonders of tomorrow…

I really miss having 16 sunrises every day on the Space Station...it's crazy how often my dreams take me back to that magical place. I imagine that I will always long to return...

So proud of my country. We have our flaws and scars and faiures and ugly moments...still we press forward. I still believe...the dream is still alive. One day...one glorious day, there will be joy and laughter and peace ever-after.

With my hero and wingman, J-Rod...happy to be home and not in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He is truly the 'Most Interesting Man in the World'...and I just noticed the Dos Equis sign on the wall to prove it...fly straight and true J-Rod...I'll be your wingman anytime!

Godspeed @Cmdr_Hadfield & @AstroMarshburn ! The office in Houston seems very quiet without you here. Hope you don't mind if @Astro_Jeremy and I do a little 'remodeling' while you're gone... :-) Safe travels! Excited to watch you on orbit...and we'll look forward to the tall tales when you return. You are the pride of office 6302 at Johnson Space Center! Beautiful launch! Ad Astra!
