Wanted to share a photo and tell you the story of my Black Lab rescue "Maddie" And my two Rabbit Rescues "Solo" (White and grey Dutch Dwarf bunny) and Kita (Black Holland Lop).
Both Rabbits were dumped off two years ago in the wild, and I was lucky enough to rescue them, Kita was very obviously abused, and she still struggles with trust issues and flinches if I move too fast, it breaks my heart that people could treat these wonderful souls so terribly.
Rabbits amaze me with their gentle sense of humor, and wonderful intelligence, they are such misunderstood animals and it breaks my heart that they are treated so horribly by others who do not understand them.
The Little dog on the couch is my little girl "Luka" She means everything to me, and I cannot imagine life without her, she is such a smart little dog, and fiercely protective of those she claims as hers, her spirit is truly wonderful.
These four animals play such an important role in my life, They Bring me such joy, and I will always be grateful for that. They remind every day of animals, either wild or domesticated in need of help, and why I strive to do all I can to make the world a better place for them.
Maddie is a Rescue dog brought from Montana to a Rescue in Calgary where I adopted her. She was a victim of Hoarding, and was completely feral when she was rescued, she was horribly mistreated, but she never lost her Gentle Nature, She has taught me so much about life.
She was pulled from the shelter one hour before being euthanized, truly an Angel was looking over her shoulder that day, and I thank God every day for the people that saved her and her Sister.
When I first adopted her she would only allow myself to be near her, she was terrified of people, but Luka Helped her to gain the trust she needed, and now she is everyone’s friend, once she gets to know them, She is the Rabbits protector ,Luka’s best friend, and my heart and soul.
Most are surprised to learn of her past, as she is such incredibly docile and loving dog, she still has trust issues with strangers and children, but she is coming along, she's a trooper :) Her two year "gotcha day" is coming up in June and she's getting spoiled..LOL!
As you can see, My furry family are living wonderful lives with me, and one day, I hope to open a rescue of my own, for all those animals out there in need, who need a safe and loving place of their own.
My entire life Animals have been a true Passion of mine, and I have always strived to give back to them what they have given to me, the Greatest gift anyone could ever hope to have, which is compassion, and a true sense of right and wrong, Hope you enjoyed the photo and the story of my animals.
