New to the fair this year, the Cultivate a Career exhibit offers visitors the chance to learn about the wide variety of career paths in the agricultural industry. You can "test drive" a high-tech tractor, analyze specimens under a microscope and explore other ag-related job fields.

Fairgoers can see cattle, sheep, goats and swine, and learn more about the various breeds of farm animals raised in North Carolina at the State Fair Ark. More than 60 animals will be on display.

Explore North Carolina history at Heritage Circle. Listen to live music at the Bluegrass Stage, watch James Madren's famous woodcarving demonstration, see a working tobacco barn and more!

Want advice on all topics plant-related? Then stop by the State Fair Flower and Garden Show, and while you're there climb on the giant Adirondack chair or pose with the Barrel Monster family for a unique photo op.

Full of locally grown and locally produced food products with free samples, goods for purchase and plenty of prizes, the Got to Be NC Agriculture exhibit shows visitors the best that N.C. farms and food businesses have to offer. More than 20 local vendors will participate in the exhibit throughout the course of the fair.

Geared toward children, the miniature farm at the Field of Dreams exhibit shows visitors the connection between the farm field and the dinner table. Visitors can pick crops such as apples, strawberries and cucumbers while learning how crops become grocery-store staples.

The Village of Yesteryear exhibit pays homage to heritage homemade crafts. Visitors can see blacksmiths, basketweavers and a variety of other artisans practicing their crafts.

The Antique Farm Machinery exhibit celebrates North Carolina's agricultural heritage by displaying old farm tools, showcasing tractors that date back as to as early as the 1930s and showcase an old milk bottle display.
