I thought it was all looking a bit pristine and clean so I "distressed" it

Sawing a hole just like they do in cartoons

Now were getting ridiculous Step 7: replace "soundboard" with quality tonewood

Step 6: A beech / rosewood floorboard neck

Step 5: Sticking on the frets

Step 3: Glueing on the fretboard

Step 2: hack away at it until it begins to resemble a neck (as made by Homer Simpson) One day this will be a ukulele

Starting from scratch: Step 1 - find a bit of wood. This is a piece of beech flooring
