People in Tokyo left many flowers and apples for Steve's farewell today.

There were lots of people stopping by on a busy Friday morning, taking time to say goodbye to Steve at Apple Ginza

I & many Tokyoites braved cold drizzle and wind to take the quake/tsunami charity cherry blossom boat tour today

Not even a disaster like this in Japan could stop Scooter B's having his 16th birthday deal today.

Along this route you can also see Tokyo Tower, look closely and you'll see the very top got bent during the quake!

But even these things went undamaged. My hat's really off to the amazing job construction crews have done/are doing in quake prone Tokyo.

Before the quake, I'd been passing this road a lot thinking 'Dag these things are on stilts looking like they're jutting out over the street for f**k's sake, what if...?!'

There are TWO of these jams, and the white stilts they were on were 1/3rd higher up than this on the day than today...

Going straight down the street, people were pouring out of their offices and homes, and I marveled that two HUGE cranes were still standing up ahead

All looked just like this on the day, nothing collapsed or broken...

...I went back to the intersection and crossed under the expressway towards the Izumi Garden glass building.

...and check on the staff and my furry/feathery friends at this pet store I always get bird food from, all were fine so...
