Sorry, let me clarify. I think it's too designed. It's trying too hard to be unmarketing, but IMHO it's much too considered - it lacks the originality and individuality of the website.

Congratulations Scott. I'm not sure if you know but many of us have been waiting for years for your book. Well done and I think the cover is great - hope you go with as I'll be looking for the brown cover in local bookstores! :-)

Gee...the overall idea is fantastic...I am agreeing with a few on the fact the "UN" is disassociated from "marketing" to become "U.N." VERY CLOSE!!!

Part 2: You don't need the caps on "Marketing" or "Engaging". It's not considered to be correct typography. Other than that, I love it! ;)

It works ok, but for me it's not 'Unmarketing' enough. The ultimate cover would just be the brown paper with "Unmarketing by Scott Stratten" written in your own handwriting. It looks a little too designed. The use of a strapline is very marketing-y too. A

Perhaps look at the entire word(s) being lower case, rather than all caps and initial caps. Like the organic style and stamping effect.

Love it. I didn't see the "U.N." until reading comments, but maybe "UN-" with the dash to emphasize it's part of the word?
