When the sun sets down the cities come alive with lights. To capture these lights, I recommend setting your digital camera to ISO 400 and the White Balance to Automatic. It provides better colour tracking with mixed or unusual light sources. Use a slow shutter speed (perhaps as long as 30seconds) to add more drama to night-time city photographs, so that you get taillights streaking through a picture. Long shutter speeds usually require a tripod. Do check your camera’s LCD monitor to make sure that bright lights are not overexposed. If they are, use your camera’s exposure compensation control and reduce the exposure accordingly.
